To best serve your needs we will perform our investigation in a step-by-step manner. We can suspend our work at any point on your instructions until you require us to proceed.
Documentation
Once we receive your assignment we will attend at the scene of the loss or where any items or vehicles may be stored. We will document the loss with notes, measurements, diagrams, photos and video. Vehicle documentation may include Event Data Recorder download. All of our documentation will be with an eye toward the technical analysis which may be necessary. We will also review any documentation you may already have. This may be statements, police reports, adjuster photos, investigator photos/video, other expert reports, or transcripts from court proceedings. If all you need is the evidence recorded, we can stop at this point. Or, we can progress to the analysis phase.
Analysis and Reporting
We can then proceed with a performing an analysis to determine how the loss occurred. As we perform our analysis we can report our findings verbally and delay preparation of a report until you confirm that it is required as part of your overall investigation. Our reports are written in clear and concise language. To assist you in your visualization of the loss we will, where appropriate, include colour photographs and CAD diagrams. Computer animation is also available if you require this communication medium.
Additional Legal Services
We can assist your case with our written report and court appearances as expert witnesses if required. We can also attend at arbitrations or mediations. We have worked for the Crown Attorney or defence in criminal matters and plaintiff or defence in civil matters. We could simply assist with your case in the background by suggesting lines of questioning for examinations for discovery or cross-examination. We can review other experts reports and comment on their content. If requested, we will prepare mounted exhibits including enlargements of photographs, diagrams, or charts/graphs.
